Volunteering has been passed down through three generations.....
Staying at Ronald McDonald
House means seeing a volunteer's familiar smile to welcome you. Our valued volunteers are essential to the
continuing operation of Our House. We
cannot do it without them. Volunteers
work behind the scenes in many different capacities within the House and within
the community, in order to fully support the families during this critical time
in their lives.
Perry/May Family are just some of our many volunteers that give freely
of their time each week within our House.
It seems that volunteering has passed down through three
generations: grandmother, daughter and
two grand-daughters. What a wonderful
way to spend quality time together. These
outstanding ladies can been seen around Our House, washing laundry, folding
laundry, greeting guests, mopping floors, sanitizing toys, cleaning our kitchen,
or arranging quilts. You name
it, they are here to help. Nadine has also committed to hosting the Red
Shoe Crew-Walk for Families in Mount Pearl this year!
“It has been a great year of
volunteering at Ronald McDonald House for all four us. We have enjoyed meeting
many families and helping them with their stay at the house. We recognize that
the house is much needed in our community since many families have to travel
for medical care in the province and to be able to help provide a “home-
away-from-home” is a great reward for all!: – Nadine Perry
Perry, Beth Perry, Ruth May, Nadine Perry)
Volunteers are the backbone of Ronald McDonald House, in our House and
in the community. This family's outstanding collaboration of time and energy
has certainly made a difference in the lives of sick children and their
families that will stay at Ronald McDonald House.
